The "Battle of Vimy" was fought in the Winter 
1915-16 as a series of local operations related to 
the German Attack orchestrated  by General Erich 
von Falkenhayn on Vimy Ridge (Op. Schleswig-
Holstein, 21-22 May 1916) and its subsequent 
operations.
The battle was recorded as a German tactical 
victory against the British Army led by Field 
Marshal Douglas Haig.
