Greece WWI War Cross 1916 1917 3rd Class with Envelope by Huguenin Freres

Greece: WW1 War Cross of 1916 - 1917, 3rd 
class.  
With its extremely rare envelope of issue, by 
the Swiss maker Huguenin Freres, La Locle.
The Crosses of this type were made and 
issued during the war on the Macedonian front.
The medal was instituted by decree of the 
Revolutionary Government in 1916 and was 
issued for bravery in the field during WW1, 
the expedition in Soviet Russia (Ukraine - 
1920) and the expedition in Asia Minor (1920 - 
1922). 
On the obverse with the Ancient Spartan 
inscription "Η ΤΑΝ Η ΕΠΙ ΤΑΣ" (Return 
victorious with your shield or return dead 
on it) and "ΕΛΛΑΣ" (Hellas - Greece), 1916 - 
1917 on the reverse. 
A scarce medal.
