Imperial Germany: Original WW1 propaganda 
postcard-photo (approx. 14 × 9 cm) depicting a 
destroyed the ruins of a village in occupied 
France or Belgium. Handwritten on the reverse, 
sent by a Corporal (Gefreiter) from the Artillerie 
Munition Kolonne 23  (23rd Artillery Ammunition 
Column) to his female cousin.
The sender congratulates her on her Holy 
Confirmation and sends his warmest greetings to 
her and her family.
