Imperial Germany: Original WW1 propaganda 
postcard featuring the Jesus-Cross of Saarburg. 
Beautifully handwritten postcard dated January 
01, 1916 with New Year greetings from Tübingen 
to Fräulein Lotte Bensinger, a nurse at the military 
hospital (Lazarett) in Wiesbaden. 
The sender (most likely a woman) offers warm 
wishes and blessings for health, service and the 
coming year. 
The tone is personal and affectionate, making 
this card a touching reminder of home and hope 
during wartime.
The postcard bears a green 5 Pfennig Deutsches 
Reich stamp,1915 Mi. Nr. 85.
Standard postcard format, approx. 14 × 9 cm.
Postmarked Tübingen 02 January 1916.
A historical artifact from the Western Front, ideal
