Regiment "Graf Bose" (1st of Thuringia).
The sign (upper corner) reads: "To the Mothers" 
while the sign next to the barrel reads:  
"We served faithfully the Fatherland for 2 years, 
on Elbe Beach".
The IR 31 was stationed in Hamburg - Altona. 
The photo was probably taken on the company's 
discharge day.
