Imperial Germany: Original WW1 German Feldpost
propaganda photo depicting destroyed artillery,
vehicles and equipment.
Postmarked by the German 26th Reserve Division
(26. Reserve-Division), dated 1915.
Written on the reverse—soldier reports good health,
and quiet conditions on the front while sending to a
friend his a photo of a battlefield scene to show him
the real face of the war.
Given the 26th Reserve Division’s movements, the
postcard was likely written from the Western Front
in France — possibly in the Champagne or Aisne
region, where that division was active in October
1915.
A rare, authentic piece of wartime correspondence
from the Western Front, ideal for collectors of
Imperial German militaria and postal history.
