and without oak leaves wreath) by Grand Duke 
Ferdinand II, to be awarded to volunteers, women 
or men who rendered outstanding services in 
tending the sick and wounded. 
This example with oak leaves wreath was awarded 
for services provided on the front.
This type of the Cross is extremely rare.
