Germany Prussia WW1 Golden Wedding Anniversary Medal (50 Years of Marriage) Kaiser Wilhelm II & Queen Kaiserin Auguste Victoria 1888 by Weigand Boxed

Imperial Germany – Kingdom of Prussia:  
Golden Wedding Anniversary Medal - in Silver. 
Inscribed: "Be Joyful in Hope, Patient in 
Affliction, Persistent in Prayer - Letter to 
Romans 12:12"
In its box of issue with the Royal Crown and 
Cipher on the lid.
The medal, with the portrait of the Royal 
Couple, Kaiser Wilhelm II and Kaiserin Auguste 
Victoria was instituted in 1888 and replaced a 
similar medal that was issued by Wilhelm I. 
It was awarded to couples that had been 
married for 50 years.
The medal was designed by Emil Weigand.
This is the 2nd type of the medal. 
In total 44.000 examples of this type were 
issued during the period 1888 - 1918.
