The Group of the Assistants of National Duty 
(Assistantes du Devoir National - A.D.N.) 
emerged in 1932 as an initiative of the Union 
of the Reserve Officers and various bodies 
related to the Red Cross. 
It was oriented in providing civil defence 
mainly against chemical warfare. 
The medal is rare.
