France: Authentic post-WW1 postcard depicting
the destroyed stone bridge of Lagny-sur-Marne,
east of Paris.
The bridge was destroyed by the retreating British
Army, on September 03, 1914, in an attempt to
delay the German advance.
Written on the reverse - a message from a soldier
passing through Lagny to his fiance.
Dated 1919.
Standard postcard format, approx. 14 × 9 cm.
