French Signal Corps), Gold Class (gilt).

The medal was created in 1971 and is/was 
awarded to members of UNATRANS for 
services and devotion or, exceptionally, to 
civil or military individuals, French or foreign, 
for exceptional services to UNATRANS, to 
Friends of the Signal Corps, or to specialized 
organizations related to the Signal Corps, the 
Telecommunications or Electronics.
Following its institution, there were 10 initial 
awards of the gold medal and after that the 
award was limited to one each year - hence 
the medal is scarce.
