The Republic of German-Austria was a short 
lived country, created on 12 Nov. 1918 following 
the end of WW1, the abdication of Kaiser Karl
and the de facto dissolution of Austria-Hungary. 
Under the provisions of the Treaty of Saint 
Germain, on 21 Oct. 1919 the country changed 
its name from "Republic of German-Austria" to 
"Republic of Austria" (1st Austrian Republic).
