Austro-Hungarian Empire: Patriotic WW1 cap badge 
for the Fall of Ivangorod on 05 Aug. 1915. 
Following the crushing Central Powers’ victory over 
Russia at Gorlice-Tarnow and the advance of the 
German Armies along the Baltic coast, the Russian 
High Command fearing encirclement ordered the 
rapid retreat of the Russian forces from Poland to 
defense positions behind the Bug River. 
On 05 Aug. 1915, the German 12th Army seized 
Ivangorod and Warsaw.
