Austro-Hungarian Empire: Military Cross 
for the Mobilization of the Army during the 
Balkan Wars in 1912 - 1913. 
A rare variation of the Cross with unusual 
type of suspender.
Although Austria-Hungary was not a 
participant of the War it mobilized 6 out of 
a total 15 Austro-Hungarian Army Corps (3 
along the Russian border and 3 near 
Serbia) in order to deter a possible Serbian 
advance towards the Adriatic Sea and a 
Russian interference in support of Serbia.
