Product Information
Specification
Imperial Germany- Saxe Weimar:
General Decoration with Swords (for War Merit)
on Ribbon Buckle - Medal of Bronze Class.
Late example in bronzed zinc.
The medal was institued in 1902 by Grand Duke
Wilhelm Ernst as a General Decoration.
The military awards, like this example, had the
addition of the buckle with the crossed swords.
Those issued during WW1, like this example,
were dated 1914 on the reverse.
A rare medal as only a few thousands in total
(all classes included) were awarded, as the
population of the Grand Duchy was around
400.000 people.
