Imperial Germany - Wurttemberg: Cross of King
Wilhelm II for Merit in Public Welfare.
The cross was instituted in 1915 to reward
meritorious activities that positively impacted the
public welfare, during WW1.
The example shown here, without the inscription
"Kriegsverdienst" on the reverse is the so called
"Anniversary Edition"of the Cross.
These Crosses were issued following applications
on the occasion of the Royal Jubilee.
A very rare medal as only 1950 such Crosses
were ever awarded.
