Imperial Germany: Original WW1 propaganda
postcard showing the Weaver's Cottage (Maison
du Tisserand) in Donchery where
Emperor Napoleon III met with Bismarck and
signed the capitulation of France in the Franco-
Prussian War of 1870-71, following the battle of
Sedan.
Feldpost-marked April 1916 by the Royal Prussian
Reserve Railroad Construction Company and the
IX Army Corps.
The sender writes to his sweetheart, thanks her
for her congratulations (perhaps on his promotion),
says he cannot write much more and sends
greetings and God’s blessing to her and her family.
A unique and emotional piece of wartime
