Imperial Germany: Authentic WW1 photo of a
German NCO (Sergeant or Senior Corporal) in
standard M1910 Feldgrau uniform standing
before the entrance of a trench dugout marked
“Schreibstube” (Orderly Room) and “Nicht

command post on the front.
Written on the reverse and Feldpost marked by
the 17th Infantry Regiment.
The sender addresses a bank employee named
W. Flüsloh in Hagen (Westphalia). The tone is
friendly and personal, likely between friends or
possibly former colleagues.
