A historic and collectible regimental badge from 
the Great War.
The Rifle Brigade (The Prince Consort's Own) was 
formed in 1800. 
Its purpose was to supply the British Army with 
sharpshooters, scouts and skirmishers.
During WW1, The Rifle Brigade fielded 28 
battalions, serving primarily on the Western Front, 
but also in Macedonia. 
The Brigade had 11.575 casualties (KIA) during 
the course of the war, while its personnel was 
awarded 52 battle honors, 10 Victoria Crosses and 
numerous other decorations.
